Polar Lights Weekend at Highway Hobby House
Ramsey, New Jersey, Feb 23 - 25, 2001

Breeeeed!!
PL's New Breed - Yours truly, Dice, Caliban, Saoh, and our host Anthony (scifiguy) - in Highway Hobby's Polar Lights section. The TV was running clips from films that PL has produced kits from, not Star Wars Episode One for a change.

Saoh looks over one of three counters full of PL kits in the model contest while Anthony wonders what that guy over there is about to steal. The shelves in the background are customer builtups and some rare items for sale.

Saoh's contest entries. His hand brushed technique is remeniscent of Aurora box art. It works!

Some other people's entries. The Phantom was cleverly built with a music box installed in the piano and the sheet music is what's playing.

My friend Bob Cash, who deosn't post on Hobby Talk, did this immaculate PL jupiter II with working fusion core, lit interior, and cutout landing leg bays.

Looks good enough to live in for several seasons of really bad scripts. Those are the Skyhook seats of course.

That's all the pics I managed to take. But the fun part was meeting people I've known for over a year - for the first time! We're all sorry Lisa from PL couldn't make it. If she'd been there we wouldn't have had to ask a stranger to take the group picture. ;-)
Oh, of course she would have been in the group shot! I'd rather have had Lisa hugging me than Dice!
    Next time for sure, Lisa!
